The above is an indication of our
running costs. You can understand why
we have to raise further funds to maintain
the Pavilion! 1 2 3 STELLA IS THE ITALIAN SESSION OF THE
PAVILION CHILDREN
CENTRE.
THE PAVILION IS A SELF-FUNDED NON-PROFIT MAKING
REGISTERED CHARITY RECEIVING NO FUNDING FROM
BARNET COUNCIL OR ANY OTHER LOCAL
BODY.
Whilst your subscriptions help towards rent
and staff salaries, to maintain the
high standard of facilities, an active programm
of fundraising events such as Parties and
Book & Toy Sales is vital. Without
such fundraising events the Pavilion Children’s
Centre would certainly not survive.
We need an active group to support our
fundraising events. Please feel free to
talk to us with any ideas to
further enhance our Centre.
TELL ME MORE .......................
As a member of the Pre-School Learning
Alliance the Pavilion is set out along
the same lines as a nursery, offering
an abundance of stimulating areas for babies
and toddlers to move freely, play and explore,
which is important at this stage in
their development. A further advantage is
that you are able to participate alongside, encouraging
and sharing in the forward development of
all aspects concerning your child.
This
is the biggest gift you can give to
your baby.
Many of our children are still at
the stage where they play alongside one
another. However, our sessions do
provide an opportunity for children to
learn about sharing, taking turns and
playing together with support from a
familiar adult. The Pavilion offers
a multitude of activities to keep active
and creative children happy for hours, with
play leaders on hand to help and
support you, ensuring that everyone has an enjoyable
and productive time. HAPPY NAPPY DAYS !!!
ART AREA : Children can explore a variety
of media eg. drawing, painting, sticking and
playdough, helping to develop fine motor
skills and the opportunity to explore different
materials.
READING CORNER : Children can share a variety of books with
their carers.
PUZZLE TABLE : A variety of puzzles and
games on differing levels,
encouraging the development of fine motor
skills, spatial awareness and
problem solving skills.
HOME CORNER : Encouraging imaginative play we have a huge range
household equipment, eg. Play oven, washing mach., tables, chairs,
pots, pans, food, etc.
SMALL WORLD PLAY: Again, imaginative play with the dolls houses,
cars, trains and tracks etc.
CLIMBING EQUIPMENT: A good rang of rockers, scooters, bikes,
slides, tunnels, trampolines to develop coordination
and large motor skills.
BABY AREA: For the very young babies, a nice range of soft mats and
baby chairs and a variety of sensory toys.
CIRCLE TIME: Children with their carers are introduced to a variety
of songs and rhymes in Italian, which is an important part of each
session, lasting approx. 10/15 mins, which is the optimum time
for our age group. Research has proved that one of the most
important pre-cursors to achievement in reading is where children
have had early opportunities to listen to and learn songs and rhymes.
Children are encouraged to join in,
however if they don’t wish to
take part, we ask that they play in
the other rooms, so as not to
distract others.
